Books About Investing
My club is looking for a book about investing to read over
the summer. The members would like something that is not
"boring". Our club has been active since 1999 so the book
doesn't have to be basic, but not too complex either. Any
ideas for a book or a good resource for investment books?

Thanks!

Great idea Gretchen. Here's a posting about a book one of my club members recommended a couple of years ago. It's easy to read, and would be fun to work through as a club "project" during the summer:

I have shelves full of financial books, and my all-time favorite is The Beginner's Guide to Charting Financial Markets by Michael Kahn. This guy is a true believer in "fundamentals first". The book starts out with a good overview of how to choose stocks with solid fundamentals (from someone else's perspective other than NAIC). But he also believes that ignoring the technical aspects is just too risky in today's market. So he spends the latter part of the book explaining some very simple technical tools that help choose better prices - both in and out.
This book was instrumental in helping our club improve our returns, and it eased us into a more well-rounded view of investing. It's a simple read and full of usable information and explanations. I highly recommend it to every investor, of every level.
Save money. Buy it used at Amazon.

The best book on investing I ever read is:  The Intelligent Asset Allocator by William J. Bernstein.

Thank you all so much for your suggestions!  We will be deciding in the next few days which book to start first.
