inactive members

Do any clubs have a provision for inactive members?  We have a member who is having medical treatments in another state and we are not sure how to handle it.

If member is inactive (doesn't attend meetings) we maintain them as long as their monthly payments are current. We encourage them to appoint a proxy (of like mind) to vote in their behalf in their absence.

Wow, give the person a break.I apologize if I am reading these the wrong way but if a member is leaving the state to have medical treatments then I would not expect them to contribute financially at all. Have a heart since they are going to be worrying about their procedure and recovery.

Our bylaws state they must send a request to become an inactive member and club approves a six month leave. This can be done twice. They must continue to pay dues and they have access to Bivio to see all transactions. We started in 1997 and have an 8.6% rate of return. We do not want a member using CRIG as an investment fund.
