Exporting Club Data

bivio has been designed so that you may save your club accounting data to a disk or to your hard drive as an XML document. XML is an Internet standard for exchanging data between different software packages.

You may save your data in either a Plain or a Compressed format. Data downloaded in a plain format may take a while to download due to the amount of information in your club database. Data downloaded in a compressed format will download more quickly and will take up less disk space, however, you will need a program such as WinZip™ in order to decompress your compressed exported data.

To download your data using Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator on Windows:

  1. Click on the appropriate link, Plain or Compressed, with your right mouse button
  2. Select Save Target As/Save Link As
  3. Wait for the Save As window to open
  4. Select the folder and file name on your computer
  5. Click Save to store the file on your computer

You can learn more about XML from the World Wide Web Consortium™.
