| Every Club Site has its own files area. It works just like your
computer's file system. The files area provides users with a way
to post and exchange files.
Your files area can be found by clicking on Communications > Files.
From the files area users are able to upload files, create new
folders and rename, replace and delete existing files.
Public - This column is only visible if you have Allowed
Public Access. If checked, indicates the file is publicly
visible by anybody on the Web. If you are an officer, you can
make individual files and folders public or private by checkmarking
the folder or file and clicking on the Apply button
at the bottom of the page.
Name -
The name given to a file or folder.
To view a file, click on its name. To download a file, right
click on its name and select Save Target As or
Save Link as.
When you click on a folder name or icon, that folder opens and
you can see its contents.
Owner - The User ID of the user who last uploaded, replaced,
or created a file or a folder.
Last Modified - The date the the file was last uploaded
or the folder was last modified. File deletions and uploads are
examples of modifications to a folder.
Size -
The approximate size of the file in bytes (b), kilobytes (kb)
or megabytes (mb).
Action - Options for a user to manage files as follows:
Upload - Place a new file in the folder in the files area.
Rename - Give a new name to the file
and/or to move the file to another folder in the files area.
New Folder - Create a new folder as a sub-folder of
the specified folder in the files area.
Replace - Upload a new version of the file.
Delete - Remove the file or folder and its contents from
the files area. Put a checkmark next to each file or folder
you would like to delete and then click the Apply button
at the bottom of the page.
Unzip - If the file you have uploaded is a zip file,
you can unzip it in your Files area in the folder of your choice.
This is very convenient if you have a lot of files to upload.
Zip files are compressed and therefore are much smaller
than your original files combined. If you'd like to learn more
about zip files, please visit
WinZip.
