| bivio's
Price Database,
while very extensive, may not include valuations
for all types of investments. Examples may include
foreign securities, thinly traded securities, penny
stocks, mutual funds, bonds, money market funds, etc.
When your club acquires a new security, either via
a purchase or as a result of a spin-off or merger,
the club officer entering the transaction into bivio
will be required to enter the ticker symbol of the
newly acquired company. If you are unsure of the
exact ticker symbol, bivio offers a symbol lookup
feature. If the ticker symbol isn't found and you
are sure about the proper spelling, that company,
fund, etc. is not in bivio's database.
If an investment held by the club is not in the
bivio database, you will be asked to define it
as an Unlisted Investment. To do so, simply
click on the New Unlisted button on the
Bought, Merge, or Spinoff page. A new page will open where
you will be asked to define a ticker symbol for
the unlisted investment, the full name of the
unlisted investment, the type of investment, and
whether or not the investment is
Federal Tax Free.
Note: Once your club has obtained and entered an
Unlisted Investment into your club's bivio accounting
software, either resulting from a purchase, merger,
or spin-off transaction, it is your club's
responsibility to enter an accurate price for that
investment as of the Member Valuation Date used for
member payments and as of the Member Valuation Date
used in a member withdrawal.
You can enter a new value for your Unlisted Investments
using the Value Unlisted Investments
button on your Accounting > Investments page.
You can also
Change Past Valuations
by clicking on the link on your
Administration > Tools page.
