I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you all go to so much trouble for the treasurer's report. Why not just save a copy of each of the three reports with cute PDF, and then post them on Bivio under the file you name Treasure's Reports with a subfile with the name of the month. Then every member can go and view the reports at any time. At the meeting, all you have to do is tell about the transactions from the previous month and give the cash balance at the broker, and you're finished.

Bivio has made it so simple, I am getting the feeling that you think it's too easy, so you make up busy work.

I'm sure every club is different. What works for you and your club members might not work for others.  Personally, while I understand your point of filing your monthly reports in Bivio's file repository, that would not work for us.  There are some files we store there, like our Partnership Agreement but if I expected each member to log into Bivio and navigate to the files section, that just wouldn't happen.  It's less work for me to send the reports to each member as email attachments (.pdf format) rather than having to file them in the files section of Bivio. Once they receive the reports, which consist of 4 pages of information, they can save them..... or do whatever they want with them.  This works for us.

I've thought of making up a bivio "Treasure Hunt". It would be a series of items a club treasurer could have their members "Find" on the bivio site.

Might be a fun club activity. Anybody have any thoughts on where they'd like their members to be able to navigate to on the bivio site and what would be good things to tell them to "find" once they got there?

Some examples that come to mind:

"What was our total club valuation on Jan. 1, 2017"?

"What is the cost basis of our oldest lot of _____ shares"?

"What topics did we discuss in our club meeting on ____"?

"What buys and sells have we had so far this year? What prices did we buy and sell the shares for?"

You guys are creative. Any thoughts that come to mind that might be fun to add to the list?

For what it is worth, we open Bivio at each meeting and look at the Valuation Report, and usually the comparison to a Performance Benchmark at each meeting. All of our members know we can change the dates...and are often pointing out typing errors as we go.

We don't print out the valuation report.

We either have a computer hooked up to a large screen TV, or use a projector and a screen.

Larry,

I so miss seeing you. I hope you are well, and still traveling.

I'm involved with three investment clubs (a member of two) and all three are fully connected and online during the meetings. In the early years I was one of the few who had any clue how to do this. Now more than half can. Today, I think my four year old grandkids could do it. (Dad might have to lift them up to plug the HDMI cable into the back of the TV, but they could take it from there.)

In our club, we put everything on Bivio! The treasurer's reports, the agendas, and the minutes. The club documents, bylaws, broker info, etc. are kept in a members only file, since we open our regular files to the public.

In addition when a new study is done, the SSG and all supporting documents must be placed on Bivio. If we buy the stock, then it is added to our Portfolio file on Bivio, where every stock we own is kept. We keep the original SSG, from when we bought it, the most up-to-date SSG, the quarterly report, and all supporting documents (i.e., Value Line, Morningstar, S&P, and sometimes Manifest Investing. These are updated every quarter and everyone has to upload his or her reports on Bivio. If your members do not know how to do this, you have a ready made Education feature! We pull the information directly from Bivio to show on the screen during our meetings.

We keep all the new stock presentations on too, and put them on our watch list, if we do not buy them. That way we can track whether or not we made a mistake by not buying!

I tell my members to go to Bivio if they are interested in this data.  Most don't, but I would like all of them to become familiar with the layout of Bivio and the breadth of good reports that already exist.

I produce the same 3 reports for my club.  Best way to do this is to run the report and print  them to a PDF.  Then take each of the 3 PDF's and combine them into into 1 document.  Takes less than couple minutes to do.

It would be nice if bivio can produce a monthly 1 or 2 page report with valuation, member status and transactions formatted for  printing. I currently export all these items to spreadsheet and cut and paste it to a 2 page word document for club presentations.  The format on the web page is not conducive for report printing especially if you want several reports printed as one.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.  I am adding all of them to our open wish list as they are all good ideas.

Please feel free to send confirmation if you'd also like to see  a feature added that has been mentioned.

The more interest in a new feature,  the higher it can move up on the development priority list.

On another note,   if you wish to make a new posting on Club Cafe,  just send an email to club_cafe@bivio.com and it will go to all the members of the list.

If you are changing a topic,  it is best to do this to start a new thread rather than to reply to an email on a different topic.
