Likewise. I don't have much time to give, but I think that we can do better with the time we're already taking. One thing common to all successful investors is that they have rules that they follow for buying and selling; what the rules are seems to be less important than having them and sticking to them. The idea is to create and use a certain strategy, consistently. As far as I can tell, we make our buying decisions without really applying any rules or guidelines, and we don't have a strategy for selling at all. In terms of taking on additional responsibilities, my only stipulation is that we do it conscientiously, with a sense of what the priorities are, how much time things take, just how much time we have to give, who does what, etc. We also need to make sure we're meeting our current, very basic organizational commitments (like deposits, bookkeeping, etc.) before we take on more. And that when we do take on more tasks, we take them on carefully. One reason I haven't been more active in the club is that I've been trying to be very cautious about my commitments; I have a nasty of habit of over-committing myself to projects, then not being able to follow through (and I'm sure I'm not the only one :) . I'm good for June 18th (the next 3rd Monday), but I also want to put on the agenda the possibility of going to the 2nd or 4th Monday of the month...there's a SQL Server user's group that meets on the 3rd Monday of the month that I'd like to attend.... >the stock club is a >business and members could be ideally more interested in the business aspect >of the club....and at this point it seems like all members need to be >willing to invest time as well as money into it....we aren't going to get it >by just showing up.
