Subject: YBYA Date: Tue, 22 May 2001 07:55:03 -0400 From: Mary To: vze2728g@Verizon.net CC: Celina & Mark , Jim , Pat , Paula Riddle , Tom Greetings! June 18th or 19th look good for me. Your e-mail Tammy was like a breath of fresh air.........the stock club is a business and members could be ideally more interested in the business aspect of the club....and at this point it seems like all members need to be willing to invest time as well as money into it....we aren't going to get it by just showing up. Though the original by-laws exclude all except AA members, it seems that running the club like AA meetings isn't working as well as a stock club could work..... I'd like to add to the next meetings agenda adding to the by-laws a time commitment for researching companies and either choosing an industry or setting up a schedule for presentations....You cannot run a business without a plan and we've been floundering around IMHO. Now that we are members of NAIC (as a club, I suggest others join individually as well) it would be beneficial to participate in the educational events offered by NAIC. Montgomery County also has the stock selecting class coming up next week at Walter Johnson High School. I've taken a couple of the investment classes and they are definitely worth the $56. Indications are that only Celina has used the bivio website that took me hours to enter the data ................its been up for months and every member was sent an invitation from the site to visit...........members need to decide if they can commit the time necessary for YBYA to be successful.......money isn't going to fall into anyone's lap. Please also add to the agenda discussion of increasing an members share in the club....and how we can work it out..........Everyone please visit bivio.com and see how they break up club ownership into units maybe that's workable. Paula, could you please send out the minutes from the April meeting? As a business we need to keep records.
