Back in 1998, two Stanford graduates, an astrophysicist and a computer engineer, shopped around for an accounting program for their investment club. They found only limited, expensive software. So they developed their own web-delivered application. bivio (from the Latin bivium, intersection) was born on December 8, 1998. Thousands of investment clubs have used it since. In the past 15 years, we've seen it all. You've created family clubs, clubs at the office, big clubs and small clubs. We've worked with brand new clubs and clubs that have been around for 50 years. We've exchanged hundreds of thousands of email messages with all of you. Needless to say, we've learned some good lessons on what works and what doesn't. Our mission at bivio is to help you run your investment club, and we've come a long way since 1998. We were ahead of our time in seeing the opportunities that would be provided by software delivery over the Internet.
