Insecurity Questions

Have you heard about the Yahoo security breach? If you login to Yahoo, you should make sure to change your login credentials there and anywhere else you use the same information.

Then you should make sure not to use the same login information in more than one place.

I was going through this this morning and got to this window. I have to laugh. This has got to be a classic. I have to "secure" my account by disabling my security questions.

I thought some of you would appreciate this also.

Laurie's absolutely right: Disable security questions whenever possible.

If you can't disable them, make up random answers with long random strings and save them in a password manager such as 1password.com or lastpass.com. Make different answers for every site. Security questions are passwords by another name.

For the really paranoid, read my article on How to Safely and Easily Manage Passwords.

Cheers,
Rob
