We have recently switched to use the transaction date as the
valuation date for member contributions as Bivio recommends.
Is there a setting that instructs Bivio to automatically use
this the transaction date rather than manually changing each
time?

There is not currently a setting to automatically choose the transaction date as the valuation date.
I wish there were also.
In my clubs we do two things to try and make it go quicker.
1. We require to have everyone do automatic bill pay from their banks to our broker and have them specify a specific arrival date so at least most of the deposits come in on the same day.
2. We use "Multiple payment" as the way to identify the entries. That way if a valuation date needs to be adjusted it can be done once for all the entries that came in on the same date.
