New Jersey Partnership Return
Has anyone had any success/luck filing with the State of New
Jersey? The work around that I used last year by using the
site www.ieonchrome.com to simulate IE9 is no longer working
for me. I am a Mac/Safari user, but I have also downloaded
and tried using the Microsoft Edge browser and that doesn't
work for me either.

Paul Savarese
Paul,

Please send a REQ to support@bivio.com. We are working with the NJ Division of Taxation to try to resolve issues with their webfile service.

Still trying after several 24 hour lockouts due to excessive log on attempts.

I did notice I could get to the nj site clicking on the link on the instruction page provided by Bivio rather then re typing or copy/paste the url onto the browser. Had trouble with MS Edge, IE mode and chrome.
Doesn't make sense, but not unexpected with that site.
I'll post if I ever get past the login.
Nj support seems responsive and helpful with finding my correct PW and username.

Looks like it's gonna be another fun year of webfiling in highest taxed and lowest serviced, NJ.

Steve. I believe that California beats New Jersey in taxes but I don't know about services.

The states with the highest income tax for 2023 include California 13.3%, Hawaii 11%, New York 10.9%, New Jersey 10.75%, District of Columbia 10.75%, Oregon 9.9%, and Minnesota 9.85%.

Paul:

I was able to log in and file our NJ partnership return, but I had to do it from a Windows computer.  The Edge browser on my Mac would not work. It lacks IE compatibility.

There is a setting for IE compatibility in the Windows Edge browser. See the screenshots below. Go to Settings --> Default Browser and then allow Internet Explorer Compatibility from the pull-down menu.

Even with IE compatibility turned on, getting the return filed was still a challenge. I had to log on more than once. Several times, I received an error message that the browser could not connect to the system.

After logging in, I missed the check box to carry forward the partners' data from last year. So, I had to manually reenter our partners' names, addresses, and SSNs. Watch for that check box.

Be sure you hit the save button before moving out of the various data entry screens. I had to reenter data several times because it was not saved. I moved between screens without saving the current one first.

It took a fair amount of time, but eventually, the return was filed.

Good luck!

Rounding out the top ten highest state personal income tax rates we have:

    8.  Massachusetts 9%
    9.  Vermont 8.75% and
   10. Wisconsin 7.65%

I find it interesting (heck of a coincidence) that only one state (Vermont) of the top 10 is run by a Republican.

Leo, I don't want to argue politics and I'm a registered Republican myself. But look at what the school funding is per pupil and how they rank in these states and you'll see where a lot of these taxes are going.

Thanks Ty.  I will try this on a Windows computer to see if I can get it to work.  I have been able to file the last few years using work arounds.  So I understand what you mean about saving and making sure to carry forward the partner's data from last year.  Paul.  (Minidoc Investment Club)

Massachusetts personal income tax rate is 5%. For taxable
incomes over 1 million dollars, a surtax of 4% is added for
the income that exceeds a million dollars.
