Qualified dividends
Our club has 3 foreign stocks. How do I find out if the
dividends are qualified or unqualified so that I can enter
that info into your tax questionaire? Do you think the
TDAmeritrade statement will have that info when it comes out
later in Feb?

Hi Linda,

Yes. Your 1099 will at least indicate that the companies that paid them were Qualifying companies. That is the information that is used to complete the Qualified question in the tax interview.

bivio will then also run the final holding period check which is needed to make the final determination of qualified/non-qualified status.

Hi Laurie,

Is there a maximum amount of storage per club that Bivio allows for a regular membership? Just curious as I would like to upload more of our historical research files onto the site for easy availability. If there is, are there any alternative sites you would recommend for that purpose?

Thanks,

Nick

At this time, there is no maximum. There is an upload limit of 50MB per file.

Cheers,
Rob
Just a quick FYI: Based upon various tax treaties the US has with other countries, not all foreign countries "qualify". IRS Publication 17 includes a list of qualified countries respect to foreign dividends. Look for table 8.1: http://www.irs.gov/publications/p17/ch08.html#en_US_2011_publink1000171592
