Tracking Options Trades
Hi everyone,

Malcolm asked me about a spreadsheet for tracking options trades.

When I started thinking about it, I realized that you can actually use bivio to easily track your options trades. You wouldn't be accounting for a club, but you could track a personal investment portfolio. I do that myself.

The bivio Active Partnership service is designed for following options trades. It's much easier to use than something like Quicken. Once your options positions are entered, you can pull up current pricing during the day at any time with a built in link to yahoo quotes. bivio will even link to your brokerage account to pull in your trades automatically if you use one of our AccountSync brokers.

You wouldn't need the partnership tax return, but it will produce the capital gain/loss report you'd need for your taxes if your trades are in a taxable account.

If you'd like to play with this, we offer a 3 month, completely free trial. If you're already registered with bivio (which you are if you're on this email list), just login to your account and go to the upper right side of your screen to open the little drop down menu of your "clubs". Select "My Site" on this menu. This will open a page where you'll see a menu notation at the top that says "Clubs". Select this and you'll get a new screen where you'll see a create club button. Use that to create your own personal "club" and go ahead and start playing with your information.

If there is interest in this, I can demo it at a future COOL Club session also.
