The right size for your investment club will be up to you. What is most important is not necessarily how many people are in your club but how engaged they are. There are successful clubs ranging in size from 4 to 100 members. A typical club probably has 8-12 members.

If a club gets too big, it is difficult to manage and to allow everyone to participate. If it is too small, it may take longer to accumulate the cash needed to make reasonably sized investments. However, in today's world of discount brokerages, this is not as big of a problem. A small club with 4 highly committed members is probably preferable to a club with 25 members in which only a few share the burden of the work.
