So Long to trez_talk

This will be the last column of trez_talk, at least by Jerry and Rip. For reasons of our own, we are leaving bivio. It has been a very gratifying experience to watch the product start from scratch and become the premier investment club software on the market. We are proud to have been a part of that, and have enjoyed the process immensely.

As we leave, it probably is only fair to give our opinion on the relative merits of the investment club programs on the market. At this point we believe that bivio is superior to NCA 1.4, NCA 2.0, and NOCA. We don't plan to list comparisons of all the features. Suffice it to say that, to our knowledge, bivio is error free in preparing partnership tax returns, while the others still have inaccuracies. bivio has more accounting features than the others, and is much easier to navigate. We sincerely hope that bivio can maintain this lead and continue to give investment clubs an excellent product, free of charge.

As we leave, we can not refrain from expressing our disappointment with the manner that NAIC has handled the bivio matter. As stated before, we fully believe that bivio is the best product on the market, and it is free to investment clubs. NAIC has actively tried to block chapters from learning about bivio, and has not allowed bivio to advertise in Better Investing. How can this possibly be in the interests of NAIC members?

We have made many new friends because of our stint with trez_talk, and we hope we can continue to communicate in cyber space.

We also want to express our appreciation to the bivio gang. It has been a real pleasure working with a group so dedicated to excellence. We leave with a sense of pride and great memories.
