Medical Records Software Companies, QSII, CERN etc.
I know there is interest in this community in QSII. A friend shared this graphic with me and I thought any of you thinking about investing in the electronic medical record keeping field might find it interesting. It rates the providers by "popularity". This is a metric developed by this company and does not indicate market share by $. However, it may provide some insight into what those implementing these systems might be thinking. What do you think?

Laurie, Thank you for showing us this information.  There are many more suppliers than I thought.

Part of the information puzzles me.  Cerner is # 3 in popularity, yet it is not in the top 5 in users.  The explanation that Capterra provides for its "Popularity Index" includes several "attributes" beyond number of users/customers and revenue.  Are the other attributes, such as social media and Google searches, really important?  I've only considered customers and revenue, plus the SSG.

Hi Roy,

I think learning about what is going on in an industry you've invested in is valuable. I just shared this as a piece of information I thought people who had or were considering these type of investments might find interesting. It was developed for the customers who purchase these products and I thought it is an interesting perspective. It's entirely up to you whether you want to do anything with it.

Here's a little more on how they put the data together:

Laurie, Thanks.  As I said before, I appreciated you posting this.  I sent out my statement and query to see how others felt on the issue.

(I did notice that Cerner offers its products in both Mac and Windows as well as the cloud, whereas QSII is reported as being only in the cloud.  Maybe that why they match up as #3 and #11, respectively?)
