Cash Versus Stock WIthdrawals

I know there are those of you who are interested in more examples of why we recommend you pay withdrawals with appreciated stock rather than cash.

I've attached a writeup I did today for a club that had questions about this. You might find it interesting.

It gives an example of a small, simple club, using simple transactions. It's pretty clear why transferring stock in this withdrawal would have been advantageous both to the withdrawing member and to the remaining club members.

Unless, of course, you feel it is nice to pay Uncle Sam earlier than you need to.
