Have you considered joining an online investment club?   We, the Northern Lights Model Investment Club, meet monthly online.   We met last night.  We use BI investment principles.  Each has the BI software to do SSG reviews.  We have 5 members and have existed for over six years.  Consider us.  We meet the third Sunday of each month.  Dues is $50 per month.  Our portfolio is about 24k.

Let me know.  You will like us and learn by doing.  We make two trades a month normally.  Good Luck.

Hi rice,

confuse me that.
Every club has to be under NAIC(BETTER INVESTING) ?
Because said, every club under BI has to follow the method By and Hold 15 years.

Can you explain me,
If I create a club (no money ) I have to register with BI?

Hi,

Just to clarify.

There is no requirement that you register with or belong to Better Investing to have an investment club.

Even if you do join them, they do not have a requirement that you hold a stock you purchase for 15 years.

A. Education ?

B. Better stock selection ?

C. Low Fees ?

Thank you.

PBasil,
Our club is 20 years old this year. I think the key to our success is...

First, we realize that our members have busy lives (they may miss meetings but that doesn't mean they don't want to be part of our club) and second, we have clear expectations from what we want from our club. Our goals are:

1) Fun
2) Education
3) Financial gain

We have a lot of fun and we are learning about stocks in the meantime.

Best,
Kimberly

Good morning PBasil,

You have a lot of questions that pertain to the "concept" of investment clubs. You are always welcome to ask questions here, but I think you would be better served by reading a good book or two about clubbing. It would give you all the basics, and explain the structure. Here are my all-time favorites, all available "used" on Amazon.com. The latter two are only a penny! The Wasik book is the best. Good luck to you!

Afternoon,
Folio charges $4 per market trade.
Purchasing one stock at 100 shares each a month saves money and helps the group stay focused and vested in process.

Buying multiple stocks , say 4, per month is $16 a month x 12 months. Is $292 a year in fees@! Too much! Especially if you're not making that back in dividends and share profits.
