Change Request
Since we are talking about changes to bivio in another
thread I'd like to add a request. Every month when I do
reports for the club, I have to select Reports to log out of
bivio. I'd like to see Logout on the reports pages to save
12 clicks a year times all the accounts.
Charles Bard
My experience is that if you go back to the report list the logout menu option appears. You may not log out while a report is showing, if that is what you mean. But you can log out from the report list.

More modern apps let you log out by closing the app, however. So in that sense Bivio is a little kludgy.

Amen to that

I would l Iove if they added a way to upload multiple files at once if we're making requests!

Hi:
Uploading multiple files can be done by putting them in an
archive. I have tested this with the attached file.
Scott
This is the only way I know of to get a post into club cafe,
so I hope no one minds my intrusion into this thread. It is
actually a change request.

I would like to see a Print button (link) on every report
screen. The Print button would generate a new version of
the report, one designed for printing. The print version
would make these changes in the standard report format:

All links and check boxes would be eliminated: Return to
the report list, Reports, Spreadsheet, Help, Generate, Show
all, info, edit, add new.

On the Transaction History report, empty categories would
not be shown, e.g., Investment Splits, Spin-offs, and
Mergers.

With the present report format, a right click on the report
brings up the print option. That works for me.

I would be much happier handing out these reports to my
members.

One more thing for my change request for a new report format
suitable for printing: the cursor should not appear in the
date boxes.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I am adding all of them to our open wish list as they are all good ideas.

Please feel free to send confirmation if you'd also like to see a feature added that has been mentioned.

The more interest in a new feature, the higher it can move up on the development priority list.

On another note, if you wish to make a new posting on Club Cafe, just send an email to club_cafe@bivio.com and it will go to all the members of the list.

If you are changing a topic, it is best to do this to start a new thread rather than to reply to an email on a different topic.

It would be nice if bivio can produce a monthly 1 or 2 page report with valuation, member status and transactions formatted for printing. I currently export all these items to spreadsheet and cut and paste it to a 2 page word document for club presentations. The format on the web page is not conducive for report printing especially if you want several reports printed as one.

I produce the same 3 reports for my club. Best way to do this is to run the report and print them to a PDF. Then take each of the 3 PDF's and combine them into into 1 document. Takes less than couple minutes to do.

The whole point was to get this down to 1 double side page report. Creating the PDF and combining them gets me over a 4 single sided report or at least 2 pages on the report. exporting to spreadsheet I am able to get 20 stock valuation and 20 member status on to a single side of a page. No more turning the page. No extra verbiage at the top and bottom of ever page.

Since we are asking for enhancements................

Each month we manually create a net change report between the two meetings.

The report shows

Stock name, Old Price, New Price, Change in Price, Old Value, New Value, Net Change in Value

Total for stocks

Total including cash

If you could enter the previous meeting date and the current meeting date all of this stuff could be calculated on one report rather than cut and paste from a couple of excel downloads.

Regards,
John

Laurie,
As many treasurer's have commented about the reports they prepare for their meetings, I also show the member status, valuation and transaction summary reports.  I convert these to pdf files on my laptop.  Prior to our monthly meeting, all reports are sent to our members as email attachments.  Also, depending on where the meeting is held, I display the reports on a big screen TV, or use a projector to show them on a screen or a white wall.  But my philosophy is..... a picture is worth a thousand words and I've created a one page, Excel file which shows the important information graphically.  If your staff wants to consider developing graphic capabilities in Bivio, I'm sure it would be appreciated.  If you'd like to see my graphic file, let me know and I'll send it to you.  I won't worry about displaying it here.
