Hello,

When I click on the "Taxes" tab, the following appears, but I do not see the 6 steps that are mentioned. Also, from an earlier comment from another club, it seemed that tax forms were already available for the 2019 tax year. Please advise on both (1) federal, (2) New York State; and (3) New Jersey tax forms.

Wait until you receive your 1099s from your broker and bank before preparing your taxes. You need to ensure the amounts on the 1099s agree with the amounts entered into bivio.

There are 6 steps below that you need to work through to prepare your taxes correctly. As you complete each one, the next one will appear.

Tax forms will be available in mid February.

My 2099's have arrived and agree with the information on Bivio. I would like to prepare my K-1's now and do the 1065. Can't the forms be ready now?

Answer, no unless you want to do your own paper forms.

Educate your club members that early/mid February is ALWAYS when they can get the K-1s and then prepare their individual taxes. It is always thus.

The congress finalizes the legislation, then the IRS finalizes the forms. Bivio has to code the forms once the IRS finalizes. There were a lot of changes to the forms necessary because of the updates to the tax code by Congress.

It always takes until early/mid February for that process to complete for Federal forms. The states can take longer to finalize forms so bivio has to wait to code the state forms.

Besides all the day to day investment club accounting bivio does, making the annual tax forms a breeze is what we pay for.
