Wash Sale
In performing a year end cist basis match I found the brokerage listed one buy and sale as a wash sale (due to an error in purchase)
The brokerage firm shows this as income and retains the original cost basis for the stock.
How do I make the cost basis match in Bivio and list the difference as income?

Ron

The "help" section in Bivio does not have a wash sale category.

The simple answer to your question is that there is a "add wash sale" link you'll see on the 1099-B review form that will allow you to add it in.

However, there can be many nuances to wash sale entries. We'd recommend you contact us at support@bivio.com to help you get the entries worked through correctly.

With the email, make sure to send:

1. A full copy of your 1099 form

2. A "Realized gain/loss" report (preferably as a spreadsheet) that you can get from your brokers website. Make sure the report shows details separately for each lot sold. (purchase date, sale date, number of shares, cost basis and proceeds)
