Capital contributions Hello Bivio community. New questions: 1) what are your club’s guidance or requirement about amount ($) of recurring monthly contributions to capital? 2) ditto but on one time capital contributions or infusions to raise more cash for investing (without selling stocks)? Do you have ‘capital campaigns’? Thanks Norm C Blizard SCS Investment Club Norm, The only guidance we have is that it's a minimum of $25 per month. Members put in $25, $50, $100, $200 or whatever a month - plus their individual "cents" identifier. We do not have capital campaigns - actually never heard of that. When we started the club we set a minimum of $20 a month and a limit of no more than 25%. We have never asked for additional contributions, but we have had some members that have contributed larger shares at various times. We had several people leave the club and that left Bob and I over 25%, just as a function of math. Other than that, i don't think we have ever had the discussion about contributions.

Our minimum contribution has always been $25. There is no maximum. We had a member years ago who went over the allowable 20% of ownership. We amended our partnership agreement to allow ownership of more than 20% but limit voting rights to no more than 20%. Have never had a "capital campaign".

We have no minimums. those who choose not to contribute in a specific month have a smaller share of the profits going forward. Ira Smilovitz
