How to make cost basis adjustment
Where can I find instructions on how to change a (sold)
security's cost basis?

We got caught in that Folio - Interactive Brokers to new
broker mess early in 2021. We have a minor (less than $2
cost basis error) to fix.
When our club had a similar issue....I contacted Bivio and they did it for us.

Yes. There can be many reasons for a cost basis in bivio to disagree with your broker. If the broker is correct, you need to correct whatever transactions were entered in bivio incorrectly. If all the bivio transactions are corrected, bivio will calculate what the broker shows for cost basis.

You should send specifics of your question to support@bivio.com. This includes both a full copy of your 1099 that you have downloaded from the brokers website and a "Realized gain/loss" spreadsheet from the broker that shows each lot of each of the stock sold. It should show purchase date, number of shares, Total adjusted cost basis, total proceeds and total gain/loss by lot.

I discovered the hard way that Folio used LIFO, instead of FIFO, for the fractional share sales they did before the stock transfer to our new broker. A relatively easy fix once you figure out what they did. Still super annoying. So glad to be rid of Folio.

You can edit lot costs by clicking on Accounting, Investments, select your stock, Transactions, Edit and then find the small box in the middle of the page that says Lots.

Fidelity's 1099s have been available for weeks, but Folio will wait until the last minute on 2/28 to release theirs.

Not all of Fidelity 1099's are ready.  My personal  was done 2 weeks ago, the club 1099 will not be ready until at least the 12th.
