extension We are located in NY and just filed for an extension on our club taxes with the IRS. Do we also need to file an extension with our state. Thanks Anat Benjamin I believe the answer will be yes, based on Laurie's previous messages. NY has an online web page you can do this from which is all electronic (no mailing). It's pretty simple and painless. It took me about 5 minutes. Very unusual for NY. I just hope it works! What option did you use gary for reasons you are filing for extension ?, The only option I see is under special condition: Electing large partnership . Anat, As Ira stated, you don't need to select anything in the drop down box. Unfortunately, the instructions don't tell you this. I looked at the CA State tax requirements page linked from Bivio https://www.bivio.com/site-help/bp/State_Tax_Requirements_Help But I didn't see anything about filing extensions for form 1065. I just checked with California's Tax website and the Form 565 (Partnership Return) "is granted an automatic seven month extension." I downloaded the statement from their website. Sharon V.
