Bank of the Ozark Settlement
Fellow Treasurers,

I recently received a letter concerning the settlement and
allocation some fees concerning Bank of the Ozark (OZK).
Here is a new article from Arkansas on the settlement.
https://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article/140678/bank-ozk-agrees-to-pay-45m-to-settle-claims-it-misled-investors

Our club owned OZK for just over a year (from spring of 2017
to the fall of 2018). I am not a lawyer and reading some of
this made my head spin. (It is that boring and full of
legalese that I gave up).

Since OZK was a popular stock in the community for a bit I
am sure we are not the only club to have received this
notice. What have others decided?

Here is the link to the online filing claim.

I have yet to receive any funds from any stock class action suit. I've received a ton of announcements. All the money goes to the lawyers, as far as I can tell.

Linda,

It is not funds. It is a settlement announcement. You have to file to even be eligible for anything.

I hope that helps.

Kevin, it is a good one time exercise.

When I worked in a bank trust department we had an employee dedicated to this one task.  The typical collections was one-quarter to one-half percent of the value of the holding in the timeframe listed in the settlement.  We provided a service, but it didn't really add to the value of our customer accounts.  This one might be different.
