is there another accounting system or software that we can use instead of bivio ?
after being shoved into Schwab, our club is looking for a
different accounting program as Bivio has become a little
steep in price. all ideas appreciated.
Yes Carl there is another accounting package, but it would be inappropriate to name it on bivio’s communications package. It is similarly priced.

In my opinion, bivio is invaluable because of the tax program. I can't imagine trying to prepare our club taxes without it

Seems to me that if someone wants to leave Bivio, the nicest thing you could do would be to direct them to a site where they could find a new system. I understand the competition angle, but you just dig the hole deeper by trying to keep them in the dark.

My advice, since I can't remember the name of the other package, is to google investment club accounting.

BetterInvesting can give you a suggestion.
I assume most of us here are BI members.

But, why isthe desire to change accounting packages tied to changing accounting programs?
We use Bivio and it has handled the switch from Scottrade to TDAmeritrade to Schwab to Fidelity just fine.

When bivio raised their fee we asked our treasurer to review both packages and tell us which one he wanted use to use.
After a detailed review he said he felt bivio was easier for the treasurer so we kept bivio.

We have found Bivio an excellent system to use. We are in the process of disbanding and did our withdrawals on the Bivio
site. Once our accounting was to the penny, we filled out Charles Schwab paperwork for transferring stock shares to our
members. (All members had accounts already or opened Schwab accounts. Very easy online) I dropped off the paperwork at our local
CSchwab branch and now we wait to see distributed shares in our accounts. Fingers crossed!
