Can a club re-file an amended Federal Tax Return? Can a club re-file an amended Federal Tax Return? If an error is discovered after a club E-Files their return, after the error is corrected can the club use bivio to re-file the amended return? Hi Daniel, Yes, amended federal returns can be e-filed with bivio. On the Accounting > Taxes page, under the box in Step 6 that shows the club's accepted return, there will be a gray box that says "Need to correct an issue with the Club's accepted federal return?" with additional instructions on how to file a amended or superseding return (it would be "superseding" until the deadline passes). This is also available for the states that we support that allow superseding and/or amended returns. Let us know if you have further questions. Justin bivio Support Some clubs may have to ask the IRS for permission to amend a return after the filing due date if they have not elected out of the Centralized Partnership Regime. This is an annual election. Clubs that have not opted out of CPAR would have to file an administrative adjustment request if after the filing deadline, which is outside of the scope of bivio. See https://www.irs.gov/businesses/partnerships/file-an-administrative-adjustment-request-for-a-bba-partnership for more information. Filing for an extension is recommended especially for these clubs; superseding returns can be filed, as opposed to amended returns, up until the extended filing deadline if the club has filed for an extension (otherwise only the original filing deadline).
