Posting Valuation Reports for members

Posting Valuation Reports for members Hello, I am new to Bivio, and now have the accounting pretty much figured out. Presently I am pasting the monthly reports into Word and then sending them back out to members, or posting them directly into an email. This seems inefficient. For my New Year's project, I plan to learn to create our Club Web page. Do you have your members log on to Bivio and put in the dates to see the monthly reports, or if you send members the reports, do you have a more efficient way? Not all of our members have Excel. Thanks so much, Diane Griffiths I sent invites to all our members to get into Bivio and it is now their responsibility to log into Bivio and print their own reports before each meeting. It has worked well!! Before Bivio I printed and made copies for all. We print the Valuation statement on one side and Member Status report on the other. Everyone keeps their copy in a 3-ring binder. We also bring our PERT reports from Toolkit. But, lately I've been posting the latter to our webpage. You can see it under Portfolios at www.bivio.com/crowriver. In a perfect world <grin>, members would print and bring the PERT report to the meeting. Without having it in front of them at the time of our decision making process, the member's input is limited. So, we still bring a copy for everyone, just to make sure. And by the way, the club pays for a case of paper about every 13-16 months. We hand out reams as members need them. Now, the PERT on our website is in PDF format. If you have Adobe Acrobat, or one of the knock off programs like PDFactory, you can simply "print" the accounting statements or PERT reports in PDF format and post them to your webpage. Everyone can open them with free Acrobat Reader. Another rather inexpensive tool I use is Snag-It. You can capture entire pages of content and post it into a Word document. That program is less than $40 and is great for snagging pictures, articles or things that are protected, that you want to share at your club meeting. Here's another option. I am current upgrading from a 36" TV to a 42" plasma in my family room. (Santa said I was a GOOD GIRL this year!) I use an S-Video cable to hook up my laptop to the TV and we use it for our stock software, power point presentations, viewing the internet, etc. Most TVs that are 6 years or newer will have an S-Video plug on the front or back. It's a great way to view things without having to print them. The key is to buy a really good quality cable. Don't scrimp on the cost. The difference between a cheap and expensive cable (I'm talking $40-50) is huge. If you need any help with your webpage, let me know. bivio is a breeze to work with. I have played with, and figured out, most of what you need to know. Lynn Ostrem, President garbagecop@earthlink.net Crow River Investment Club www.bivio.com/crowriver
