Tax K1 has 10 pages for each member!
You don't need fancy language to speak with your Congressional Representative or Senators. Just make sure you include your name and zip code so they understand that you are in their district (or state for Senators). Then explain your irritation: the number of pages you need to print, the cost of fulfilling the filing requirements, and the short notice that has caused us all to have to do things like file extensions and/or wait until the last minute to file. You can call, send a letter, or submit an email. Entering your address here https://www.congress.gov/contact-us should give you your Rep/Senators and they usually have a page where you can find their phone number and address, or fill out a form to submit a comment electronically.

I already called mine, and used language like this: Hi, I'm (name) calling from (zip code) and I'm calling today because I'm in a small partnership and we are having problems filing taxes this year. I'm upset that the IRS is still changing policy during filing season, that will be in effect for taxes filed this year. It seems ridiculous that the IRS is still potentially changing policy less than a month before the filing deadline and seems like the IRS should have delayed the policies from going into effect until 2023, affecting the 2022 tax year. If you can do anything to make that happen, I appreciate it. Thanks, (name)
You could also add language about printing a lot of pages or describe whatever other problems your club is having. Keep it fairly short and avoid curse words, but it's fine to express your emotions such as irritated, upset, angry, or disappointed, and use words like ridiculous, wasteful, misguided, etc.to describe your opinion of the IRS issues. It's ideal if you can include an action they can do, but it's also important for them to hear from you even if you're just expressing frustration with a current policy.

Hope that helps!

Our club has 40 members and is in NY which has its own large return.    I think it's going to be Staples for a couple of hundred dollars.

But, barring any changes (which may be slim at this point), Bob is right.  Maybe everyone needs to send a copy to their congress people, tell them about your group and ask them whether this onerous burden on your club is really what they intended when they created the law.

I printed my pdf at Staples on a Xerox printer last night. I previewed the file and all looked fine. When I returned home I signed the return, assumed the printec pages were OK and put the report in an envelope.... was a tight fit with 61 pages but I jammed it in. I'm so aggravated that I just don't care if the edges get crimped and the reports cause an IRS scanner to jam.

But when I reviewed my club's copy I found that some pages were printed off scale, some printed in landscape mode and some of the landscape pages rotated 180 degrees. So I went through the IRS and club's copies page by page and found that of the 61 pages, 12 had printed incorrectly, either truncating content, printing off scale or printing in landscape when they were portrait images. AARGH.... Back to Staples this morning... an hour and half round trip plus the inconvenience and time to sort it out. The manager at Staples was kind and offered to reprint the document but I opted to just replace the pages that printed in error. The printer previewed the document correctly and this time they all printed off correctly when printing page by page. And the odd thing was that last night the error had a 20 page difference between sets of errors. Of course, the Staples manager said it was not the fault of the printer and the pdf displayed correctly on my PC and on the printer this morning.

So a word of warning.... Check your reports page by page and don't assume the document will print error free. I know it should, and I've never had problems in the past. But this year is filled with gremlins just itching to stay up past midnight.

It is time for the laser printer to show its worth being well above its cost. True, toner cartridges are expensive. But many are not aware that a cartridge will print many, many more pages than the printer counter tells you. When you get the message, remove the cartridge and shake it or bang it with the palm of your hand to loosen toner that is sticking internally. You can get nearly twice as many pages doing this.

Most page counters can be turned off as well. Google "how turn of the page counter on a laser printer" to learn how. You don't have to change a laser printer cartridge until the print quality is poor.
